No official booklist is provided, but NCERT books (Class 11 & 12) are strongly recommended for science-related courses. Additionally, reference books from Arihant, RS Aggarwal, and Disha Publications can help in preparation.

The core syllabus remains mostly the same, but minor updates or changes may be introduced. It is always recommended to check the official GGSIPU website for the latest syllabus details.

Yes IPU CET syllabus is largely based on the NCERT

  • BTech: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from the NCERT books.
  • BBA and other management courses: English, General Awareness, Logical Reasoning and Aptitude but may also require additional preparation.
  • MCA: Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, and Computer Awareness, with some concepts from NCERT and additional advanced topics.
  • However, the exam is not strictly limited to NCERT books. Referring to other competitive exam books can be beneficial.

Hope it helps!

With a NIMCET rank of 7,431, securing admission to MCA programs at NITs is unlikely, as their closing ranks typically range between 500 and 800. However, your IPU CET rank of 349 is competitive. In 2024, the closing ranks for MCA at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University extended beyond this rank, indicating a strong chance for admission.  Therefore, it is advisable to participate in the IPU CET counseling process.

If you are appearing for the IPU CET entrance test for B.Tech Computer Engineering via lateral entry after your diploma, solving last year's question papers can be of great use. The papers will provide you with a sense of the pattern of the exam, the type of questions asked, and the level of difficulty. You can search for sample papers from coaching centers or use standard books on Diploma level covering topics in engineering mathematics, applied physics, and computer Science basics. Practice regularly, and reviewing major concepts will enhance your speed and accuracy.

No, there are no separate section-based cutoffs under IPUCET exam. GNIOT offers BTech courses based on overall cutoff. Considering the GNIOT cutoff 2024, the last-round stood between 588462 and 614772 for the General AI category candidates.

Yes, IPU CET entrance examination is solely for B.Tech programme admissions to the specific areas in Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). Nevertheless, it needs to be acknowledged that large numbers of students get B.Tech admission mainly due to the marks secured through JEE Main. But the IPU CET scores are taken for the special courses, namely B.Tech in Biotechnology along with some more specialised fields. Hence, if you want to do B.Tech from GGSIPU, you must check the specific requirements of your programme to find out if you need to take IPU CET.
