Hey Abbas,
In IIT mains you have to score min. of 27.78% if you're an open category student,
19.4% if you're obc category,
14.4% if you're sc category,
13.3% if you're st category.
The below information may also help you:

Hi Niranjan,
Based on your JEE main score, your expected rank will be above 75000.
The above mentioned ranks are displayed only the basis of a candidate's score in JEE Main 2016. There can be variation in ranks when the same is calculated on the basis of normalization of scores, taking in account Class XII Board results along with reservation (SC / ST / OBC etc.) and JEE exam scores.

It depends on which IIT, you need to be in top people in your category. It's a little bit difficult for old IIT's. Year by year the total marks for JEE Advanced paper is changing. I say you need to get around 3-10% of total marks for old IIT's.

At present, it can't be said about cutoff. But, you must know that IIT - Kharagpur is under top 4 IIT. So, aim high, you will definitely score high.
