Yes, you are eligible to register for JoSAA counselling even if you are not eligible for JEE Advanced. Your 31 percentile and 30,000 rank in ST category allow you to participate in JoSAA, although the chances of getting top NITs may be low. You may have a better chance in NITs from the North-East or in less competitive branches. Make sure to list all available options during choice filling and consider state-level options too.

Yes, it is possible to get admission to IIT Kharagpur for Electrical Engineering with a rank of 250 in JEE Advanced for candidates belonging to the General AI category. Round 6 of the cutoff list has been released and the cutoff rank for admission to Electrical Engineering was closed at 10095 for candidates belonging to the General AI category.

No JEE advance exam qualification is required for admission if you have done Diploma in pulp and paper.

The qualifying percentile for SC candidates is usually around 50–55 percentile, though it varies slightly each year. The complete schedule of the JEE Advanced 2026 exam is expected to be out in December 2025 alongwith the information brochure of the exam. the official website of JEE Advanced - jeeadv.ac.in will be updated for the 2026-27 session by the end of this year and the exam dates will be displayed therein.

Until now, no official announcement has been made for the increase in the JEE Advanced attempt limit in 2026. Until any official notification is released, the JEE Advaced 2026 attempt limit is as follows:

  • Candidates can attempt JEE Advanced 2026 two times in two consecutive years.
  • Candidates who took JEE Advanced in 2026 can attempt JEE Advanced in 2026, and this will be their final attempt.
  • The Candidates who will attempt JEE Advanced in 2026 can attempt JEE Advanced in 2027.
  • Candidates who took JEE Advanced before 2025, cannot appear for JEE Advanced 2026.
