Yes, you can take the JEE exam even if you have scored less than 75% in boards.

First, congratulations on scoring such a great score. Having such an impressive score of 97.4 percentile can help you get the top tier institutes like NITs, IITs and GFTIs. You can even get the top 10 core branches of NIT as well.

To get into NITs via JEE Mains, you'll need to have passed 12th grade with at least 75% marks (or be in the top 20% of your class). For SC/ST students, the minimum is 65%. There's no upper age limit.

As per the SU JEE eligibility criteria, candidates must have passed their class 12th examination or any equivalent examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates) in aggregate. Additionally, candidates must have also passed their Class 12th examination with English as one of the compulsory subjects.

Since you have not received your class 12th result yet, it's difficult to say if you fulfil the eligibility criteria or not. However, if you have appeared for your exam and are expecting your results soon, you can check the eligibility criteria and see if you meet the necessary qualifications.
