On the basis of your JEE Main percentile, Admission in NITs and GFTIs is not possible. You can be qualify for JEE Advanced subjected to category you belongs. It is better to prepare for JEE Main April-2020 exam for improving this score above 90 percentile for better options.

Your friend's JEE Main percentile is not enough to get any NITs. NITs needs the JEE Main percentile above 92. Hence, ask him to improve his JEE Main percentile in the April-2020 exam.

You have a good score and you should try for the NIT you want, probably you will not be able to get Core branch like mechanical CS and IT. You may get a low preference branch there. Best of luck.
