Eligibility criteria for Mass Communication differs from college to college or university to university. In NIMCJ, eligibility criteria is minimum 50% from any stream.

Indian Institute of Journalism and New Media (IIJNM) placements 2020 had 18 students getting placement amid pandemic. Out of which, eight were selected by Reuters. Within the first week of IIJNM placements, students got placed in reputed media companies like Times Internet, Deccan Herald, ULTRIA, Cogencis, and Reuters.
