The main degree is known as Journalism and Mass Communication. If one goes for this, in the later part, as in MBA, a specialisation is offered for more specialized study of particular field. This way, Advertising is a Specialisation in Journalism. Advertising and Public Relations is offered as a Master Degree or a PG Diploma under Journalism faculty.

The minimum aggregate marks in class 12th: 50%.
Also, English score, minimum 50% in class 12th.
No separate entrance exam needed.

In order to pursue mass communication, you can take up the courses like:
BJMC (Bachelors in Journalism and Mass Communication)
B.Sc MCAJ (Bachelors of Science in Mass communication and Journalism)
You can take up the following courses from the government and private institutes. Some of the best colleges that you can choose from are:
Symbiosis Centre for Media and Communication (SCMC)
GGS, IPU
DCAC
AAFT
In order to be a graduate from any of these colleges, you might have to write their respective entrance exams as well. A minimum of 50% in 12th from any stream is mandatory to get into the field of mass communication. Anchor, writer

Hi Abiseik,
A career in journalism requires commitment, dedication and sacrifice of personal time for the sake of staying on front or top, particularly in news industry. A journalist may have to work day in and day out to get breaking news. Similarly, media professionals who are in entertainment or film making need to work with passion which may come at the cost of their personal life.
However, in a nutshell, Bachelors in Journalism and Mass Communication degree is enough for a person to fetch a job of any interest or of any field. I am listing you some of the excellent fields that you can pick it from:

Dear,
There will be different profiles in these kind of channel, student can apply from the backgrounds like wildlife science, production team, photography, environment science, physics background.
If you did Journalism as a degree, you would be in photography, production or anchor for travel shows, food shows, etc.
So, choose it according to your profile what you wish to pursue.

Hi Prajwal,
Yes, absolutely. BJMC is as same as Bachelors in journalism (Honors) offered by DU. It's just that the notation of the courses might be different with the range of topics slightly varying from each other, but the course will lead you to the same hallway of opportunities in the field of journalism, media and mass communication.
