Model Engineering College Thrikkakara Kochi offers the following courses: Btech, Mtech, and PhD. The admission process for these courses is as follows: For BTech courses- admission is based on the rank obtained in the KEAM conducted by the CEE, Kerala. The candidates have to apply online through the official website of CEE Kerala and register their options for the college. For MTech courses,   admission is based on the score obtained in the GATE conducted by IITs and IISc. The candidates have to apply online through the official website of KTU and register their options for the college.

For PhD courses, admission is based on the eligibility criteria prescribed by KTU and Model Engineering College Thrikkakara Kochi.  The candidates have to apply online through the official website of KTU and submit their research proposal to the college. 

Model Engineering College Thrikkakara Kochi conducts internal exams for each course as part of the internal assessment component of the academic evaluation. The internal assessment marks are based on assignments, quizzes, seminars, etc. The internal exams are usually conducted twice in a semester. The duration of each exam is one hour and the marks are 30. If a student fails in an internal exam, he or she will get zero marks for that exam and it will affect his or her internal assessment marks. The internal assessment marks are calculated by taking the average of the two internal exams and adding 10 marks for attendance and 10 marks for other components. The internal assessment marks carry a weightage of 50% in the final grade.
