Yes, KSOU is approved by UGC (University Grants Commission). And, KSOU degree is for government jobs. KSOU was established on 1st June, 1996. Karnataka State Open University is a recognised university of DEC (Distance Education Council).

UGC de-recognized several courses of KSOU with effect from 2012-13. After several initiatives by KSOU, the Government of Karnataka and the direction of the high court, 17 courses of KSOU were granted recognition from 2018 onwards.

It may create problem in those government jobs recruitment where you have to submit Diploma documents for verification. Then you may get this-qualified as it is not recognised by government.

There is no maximum age limit to pursuing B.Ed course but in general you can apply in between 21yr-35yr.
But for many correspondence B.ED courses there is no age limit generally. There are minimum Eligibility for Correspondence B.ED:-
1. 2years of experience in teaching in a school recognized by the GOVT.
2.GRADUATION/POST GRADUATION from the recognized university.
3.50% to 55% marks in graduation.
4.NO AGE LIMIT.
