The eligibility for various courses are:
- UG law course in Security and Investment Law - Candidates should have completed class 10+2 with commerce subjects.
- PG law course in Security and Investment Law - Candidates should have obtained a degree in law stream either a five-year integrated LLB degree or the three-year LLB degree.

In the undergraduate level, it is offered as an elective and at the postgraduate or certificate level it is offered as a specialization. UG courses take 5 years and PG/Diploma courses take 1 year to complete.

The financial transactions involving stocks, assets, shares, liquidity, mutual fund investments, Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs), Bonds, ESOPS, PF, Bank Products, Annuities, etc. are secured under Security and Investment Laws.
