If your Bachelors degree is in the same course in which you are seeking admission, with 6 papers in that subject, you will be admitted on the basis of merit. If it is 3 papers, you will have to appear for an Interview.
If you have done your Bachelors in a subject other than the one you are seeking admission in, you will be selected on the basis of a written test consisting of 2 papers in the subject in which you desire to register for your M.A. degree. Paper 1 will be an essay paper in the subject, and Paper 2 shall be a paper to test your general acquaintance with the subject.

Hello Tribeni, Aah! You are facing a typical Shakspearen dilemma! Sociology or English. Both these subjects have great potential and scope. Perhaps English has a bit more than Sociology. But I would like to advise you that please select the one which fascinates you more, intrigues you more. Best wishes.
