No many candidates pursue MA History after completing undergraduate courses from various disciplines. MA in History has theoretical subjects that requires comprehension and analytical skills. candidates who are interesting in studying about past societies, cultures and economies can pursue this course. When interest is combined with efforts they can pass with flying colors.

Yes one can get good placement opportunities after an MA in History but they are found through networking and specific skill development and not only by campus placement which is less common than in Engineering.

Yes IGNOU offers an MA in History. course can be completed in 2 years and it is offered in Hindi as well as English medium. online application form for course is released twice a year, in January and July. Candidates can pursue this course without qualifying for an entrance exam. average course fee for MA History in IGNOU is INR 9,000. course is open to all graduates and there is no minimum or maximum age limit. Once admission is granted, IGNOU study materials are sent by post to students.

Students having a Bachelor's degree in Arts or any other course are eligible to apply for MA provided they fulfill other requirements of the programme. The aspirants can further pursue  PhD in History after an MA History programme. Students can also choose MA History to gain in-depth knowledge of the subject that will help them in getting better job prospects.
