ISER Thiruvananthapuram doesn't accept any state or national entrance exams for the MS course. However, the institute does conduct an in-house screening test for shortlisting candidates for final admission rounds. Selected candidates will have to appear for an online, proctored screening test held in English. Candidates shortlisted based on their performance in the screening test will be selected through the interview rounds. Finally, the institute will release the shortlisted candidate's lists.

ISER Thiruvananthapuram does not offer direct admission to the MS programme. Further, 50% is reserved for SC/ST and PwD candidates. This eligibility criterion is common across all four disciplines.
