There are more than 1,200 MSc Zoology colleges in India and the eligibility criteria of mostly colleges vary depending on their requirement. However, the minimum eligibility criteria is:
- To obtain a bachelor's degree in BSc Zoology or any relevant discipline,
- From a recognised university with at least 50% score.

Punjab University does not specify cutoff of the M.Sc. Zoology in the search results. The eligibility of M.Sc. Zoology in Punjab Agricultural university however are given. Applicants have to complete B.Sc. Medical/B.Sc. (Hons) Zoology/B.Sc. Zoology/B.Sc. Fisheries/ B.Sc. Agri./B.Sc. Agri. (Hons)/B.Sc. Biotech to be eligible in admission. B.Tech. Biotech. with OCPA 6.00 of 10.00 or 60% marks or its equivalent in the graduation level. To get definite details regarding the cutoff of M.Sc. The latest cut off information for M.Sc in Zoology at Aligarh Muslim University was 3304 in NEET.
In the year 2023 it was 3304 and in the year 2022 it was 3028.
