Few points told by my known who did her studies from LPU that will help you to make your decision:
School of Agricultural sciences is one of the fastest growing school of Agriculture in the entire region and India. It is being rated as among Punjab and India's Best Agriculture colleges. Students are exposed to Commercial farms to get know-how that create an opportunity for students to engage and tone up their endurance, confidence and management skills. The university has well-equipped laboratories, library, lecture rooms and excellent farm facility to conduct agricultural experiments. Students learn about the latest advancements in the field of agriculture, disease resistance, fertilizers and, insecticides with extensive fieldwork and field trips preparing them for the evergreen field of agriculture. The best thing is the University does not compromise with the academics as all the lectures are held and if a faculty wants a leave either the makeup lectures are planned or adjustments are provided for that particular slot. LPU focuses on quality education a lot and all the professors of LPU are highly qualified and friendly, LPU also focuses on practical knowledge a lot and agriculture students of LPU has to go through various such practical tasks and projects which makes it very easy to understand the concepts and develop a deep knowledge of the subjects. Through the Rural Agriculture Work Experience (RAWE) programme the students develop a real-time understanding of conventional agriculture methods and effective dissemination of knowledge to the farmers. In order to provide a basic understanding of emerging problems and technologies involved in agriculture, field visits are conducted to neighboring farms, orchards, and nurseries. University provides additional placement oriented classes and students also studied subjects like analytical skills, soft skills, etc. Etera as part of the curriculum to prepare the students for all types of competitive exams. I would like to name a few companies that visit LPU- Nestle, VLCC Health Care, HDFC, Rallis India, SYNGENTA INDIA LTD, WIPRO LIMITED, and many other firms. The average package is 3.27 LPA and the maximum is 5.6 LPA.

Lovely Professional University provides copious opportunities to all the students. University provides additional placement oriented classes and students also studied subjects like analytical skills, soft skills, etc. As part of the curriculum to prepare the students for all types of competitive exams as well. Placements in LPU are very promising for the B.Sc. Agriculture students. Based on the Lol, IEA, Compliance Certificate and Self Study Report submitted by the University and subsequent report of Peer Review Team, the National Agricultural Education Accreditation Board of ICAR in its XXII meeting, held on 28th September 2018, granted accreditation to the School of Agriculture, Lovely Professional University. For campus placements several Brands of the industry visited the LPU campus every year, students get trained for that and the process is still going on. Around 180+ reputed companies visit every year for campus-placement from LPU. I would like to name a few companies that visit LPU- Nestle, VLCC Health Care, HDFC, Rallis India, SYNGENTA INDIA LTD, WIPRO LIMITED, and many other firms. In agriculture programs candidates got very good packages. The highest package offered is approximately 8 LPA and the minimum package is 3.5 LPA as far as I came to know from my cousin who is part of the same stream at LPU. Hope this information helps. Thank You.

You can definitely seek admission for M.Tech in civil engineering specialisation in spite of doing your engineering graduation in agriculture.
