Admission to M.Tech course is based on SEE score. After completion of the selection rounds, the university releases a merit list to announce the names of the shortlisted candidates. The shortlisted candidates are called for counselling and document verification. Aspirants need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university. To be eligible for M.Tech at ICT Mumbai, candidates must have passed a relevant UG degree with at least 60% aggregate or equivalent CGPA (55% aggregate or equivalent CGPA for the backward class candidates). For admission to the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram M.Tech course, candidates must have passed BE/BTech in the relevant subject with at least 6.5 CGPA or 60% aggregate. Apart from this, candidates are also required to appear for the GATE entrance test.

Candidates with a valid BTech degree or PG Degree in Science/Mathematics/IT/Computers/MCA from a recognised university can apply for admission. It is further also necessary that the candidate passed the qualifying examination with a minimum of 65% aggregate for admission to CSE, ECE, and CB MTech courses.
