The institute requires a valid GATE scorecard for admission to the M.Tech courses in order to apply.If a candidate does not have a valid GATE scorecard, the evaluation will be based on a 100-point scale instead. But preference is given to GATE-qualified qualified candidates only.The GATE 2024 exam will be conducted between Feb 3, 2024 and Feb 11, 2024.

Candidates must have a bachelor's Degree in Computer Science & Engineering/ Electrical/ Electronics & Communication/ Mechanical/ Production/ Industrial Engineering to be eligible for the M.Tech programme. For admission to the M.Tech programme at IIT Bhilai, candidates must meet the eligibility constituted by the institute. Below are the eligibility criteria for admission to the M.Tech programmes at IIT Bhilai:
- BTech in relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for reserved categories)
OR
- MSc or equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for reserved categories)
OR
- BPharma with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for reserved categories)
OR
- MBBS/ BDS with 60% aggregate (55% for reserved categories)

The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) administers the MET exam, a university entrance exam, to candidates seeking admission to the institution's numerous undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs every year. A minimum of 50% of the total cumulative marks in the qualifying B.Tech degree must be obtained for the M.Tech program. MET 2024 candidates who score 180 out of 240 are deemed to have an excellent score.

- Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology with at least 50% marks in aggregate
- For candidates belonging to SC, ST, and OBC categories of Madhya Pradesh, the minimum aggregate marks are 45%
- Admission to the M.Tech programme is based on the merit in the qualifying exam
- For PG programs like M.Tech, selection is made based on the NEET and GATE scores

To be eligible for M.Tech at Ahmedabad University, a candidate must have a graduate degree in BE/BTech (ECE/CSE/IT/ICT), BS (Computer Science), BS (Physics), MS (Maths), MS (Statistics), MCA, MS (IT), or MS (ICT) with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or an equivalent cumulative grade point average (CGPA). A valid GATE score in ECE/CSE or an entrance examination conducted by the institute is required. Interviews may be conducted as a part of the selection process
