To get admissions into the M.Tech course at NIELIT Calicut with a score of 400 is slightly tough, because as per the GATE last round score (General-All India) for the academic year 2025, it ranges from 350 to 362. However, apart from NIELIT Calicut, there are a lot of institutions/ colleges that offer admissions to the M.Tech course with a score of 400.

While preparing the NIELIT Calicut M.Tech cutoff, the authorities will consider examination and admission-related factors. The listed factors will be checked and considered by the authorities while determining the cutoff:

  • Previous years' cutoff trends,
  • Difficulty level of the exam
  • Total number of qualified candidates
  • Total number of candidates applying for a specific course or institute
  • Number of seats available for admission, etc.

After checking all of these factors, the authorities will prepare the M.Tech specialisation-wise NIELIT Cutoff.

  • In the case of students with the same GATE score, the selection shall be based on the marks in the qualifying degree.

No, GATE scores are not compulsory for admissions to the M.Tech course at NIELIT Calicut. The institute also offers admissions to those students who have not appeared in GATE. The unfilled GATE seats will first be filled with NON-GATE candidates from Kerala state based on the nativity certificate. If seats are still remaining vacant,  candidates from other states will be considered for admission.

Moreover, the institute also allocates 5 seats to each M.Tech branch for sponsored category students. However, apart from all these aspects, applicants with GATE scores are considered more for admission.
