It depends on your college. Some may give you a chance to switch your specialisation during the course.
But in most cases, it generally becomes difficult to make that switch, as MTech is a 2-year specialised programme dealing with advanced concepts and practical training planned out in a certain manner and course flow, which makes it difficult for colleges to allow that transition.

Well, yes. Going by the current market landscape and fast-evolving technology, there are certain MTech specializations that enjoy excellent job opportunities, a high earning potential, job satisfaction, and stability. No, ACS College of Engineering needs a valid GATE score for admission to MTech. Candidates will not be considered for the selection process if they do not clear GATE. It is necessary to prepare and clear GATE to get a seat in M.Tech in ACS.

To be considered for M.Tech at ACS College of Engineering, applicants should have a BE/BTech or equivalent degree. At least 50% marks in the concerned engineering stream are needed. Only candidates who meet this academic requirement can apply for admission.

For M.Tech at Institute of Technology, Nirma University, a candidate should have passed BTech in the same stream. The degree must be from a recognised university or institution. Admission is by GATE or a written examination for non-GATE candidates. Relevant subject knowledge from the undergraduate level is necessary for each specialisation.

For getting admission in M.Tech in Institute of Technology, Nirma University, the candidates should either qualify GATE or sit for the written test conducted by the university. Preference is given to the GATE-qualified candidates in the merit-based selection. Candidates should also possess a BTech degree in the concerned field from a recognised university.
