In GATE XE (Engineering Sciences), Thermodynamics is one of the optional sections (XE-E), but admissions for M.Tech are usually branch-specific (like Mechanical, Thermal, Energy Engineering).

GATE is an entrance exam for M.Tech in various NIT's and IIT's. For general category the minimum score required to get into one of the top IIT's or NIT's for Mtech is in the range of60-70 out of 100. Well the specific cut off's for each university will be released once the results for GATE are officially announced.

RGUKT (IIIT Basara): Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies offers three specialisations under M.Tech course to the candidates. These include- Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Computational Mechanics in Mechanical Engineering. To get an admission in M.Tech at DY Patil University Navi Mumbai you must hold a B.E/B.Tech degree in a relevant engineering fields with minimum marks of 50% and 45% for reserved catagories. There is also an entrance exam of DY Patil University for PG for which is called DYPRAIT-PG. You can get admission through this exam also

To be eligible for the M.Tech programme at IIT BHU the aspiring candidates need to have a minimum of 60% in BTech. Aspirants with a score equal to or more than the cutoff also have to go through a counselling round. Once selected, aspirants have to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the institute.

The basic eligibility requirement to get admission into M.Tech courses at NIT Rourkela and NIT Andhra Pradesh is almost similar. Moreover, NIT Rourkela & NIT Andhra Pradesh M.Tech course admission is based on a valid Graduate Aptitude Test (GATE) score obtained by eligible candidates. Thus, it is hard to compare which institution is easier to get admission to. However, there are several other factors on which candidates can compare the competitiveness to get admission into the M.Tech course at both institutes:
