The Combined Defence Services (CDS) examination is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. The notification for the examination is usually released in the months of October and June, and the examinations are conducted in February and November respectively. NIFT conducts it's entrance exam all over India for all of its campus all together in the second week of February, Though the forms are out by the month of November and the last date is usually in the month of January. There are two levels, after clearing the two one gets a rank on the basis of which admission is given.

You can not get admission only on marks of 12th. You have to appear for entrance exam prescribed by your state govt. In your case JEE Mains. But why this obsession with engineering? Please think of commerce or humanities.
