Class 12 grades are accepted by MGUMST for UG course admissions. Furthermore, the university admits students to UG programs on the basis of both merit and entrance exams. Candidates must take the necessary entrance exam for the courses they want to enroll in and receive good grades in Class 12 in order to be admitted.
Candidates can get admission to the merit-based courses solely based on their Class 12 scores.

In the session of 2022 and 2023 National Institutional Ranking Framework NIRF ranked Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences and Technology as the 7th best college in medical category. The institute has consistently maintained strong ranking in the NIRF in 2022 and 2023.
The university is also ranked 151th out of 200 in the University category according to the NIRF ranking 2024.
