Basic qualifications required by you are - basics of coding in Java, c+, python or any language. Since mechatronics is a new branch combining mechanical and electronics, you should be familiar with the basics of mechanics and electronics taught in 11th and 12th grade. Apart from that whichever branch you choose, to pursue a great career you need to be passionate enough.

Yes, you can apply for the UGC NET exam. The minimum eligibility to apply for UGC NET is post graduation degree. You must have scored more than 55% marks from recognised university. As you are a student of PCB group then, for Manipal University, I would like to suggest you to go for bio medical technology or B.Tech in biotechnology.
