No you do not have to give any entrance exams for private colleges that offer you Diploma and also you can go for the course anytime once you are done with the schooling.

GK and GA are most important topics. English is fine. Also, many colleges ask for reasoning and aptitude as well but focus mostly on GK, GA and LR.

You need to give CET 2017, There are two departments for mass communication one is for electronic media and one is for print media. There is no placement cell in print media here but companies like Sony and Starplus and other do come in electronic media. Also, in print media. different newspaper and channels come for hiring reporters and news reader and all. So you always have the choice.

Well, from both the courses, you may easily land up in the field of photography. However, I'd recommend you to go for a course in media and mass communication because it not only covers photography as a subject from the 3rd semester but also expands your bandwidth of understanding of other fields as well.
