Mass communication is a very universal field and it only requires immense interest into the field and nothing more. Hence, you can definitely pursue Masters in mass communication after B.Sc biotechnology. There's no doubt about it. Go for it.

Getting into Discovery or NatGeo doesnt always need you to be an expert in Wildlife/Nature. For example, a finance/sales guy can also get a job in an IT company in their respective departments. So you should first look for a post where you fit in to apply in Discovery and NetGeo. If you are lucky and get a chance, you can join and go for your passion in there.

You may be able to pursue BMM without any problem provided you justify your gap of one year that you've take for class 12th. Not every university prefers to have a candidate with repetitive class. Education Qualification:
1.You need a minimum of 45% in 10, 12th with any stream .
2. Some colleges also want their student to be fluent in English language and expect at least 75 marks in the subject.
3. Some colleges also conduct an entrance exam for the same.
