Mass Communication and Journalism seems similar, but both are entirely different streams.
Mass Communication : Mass Communication deals with the procedure of conveying or transmitting a message to the general population through media like radio, newspapers, magazines, television, internet and so on.
Mass Communication is a vast sector that comprises of so many branches. Aspirants can study their interesting subjects in mass communication. There are many graduate and postgraduate programs in Mass Communication. Numerous leading educational institutions offer diverse courses in the concerned fields. There are also Diploma courses in mass communication. A graduation in the respective fields is a requisite for the entry-level jobs. Aspirants who have completed the various courses in mass communication can seek out for career in private and public sector. Journalism : Journalism is concerned with the compilation and transmission of news through the print media and electronic media.
There are so many courses in journalism that an aspirant can pursue. It includes Bachelors, Masters and even diploma courses. To become a journalist, aspirants should have atleast a graduation in journalism. Detailed awareness in political Science, economics, and English language will be really helpful in honing the talents of a journalist. Those who have flair in photography can opt for photojournalism. 2. Journalism:
Journalists are considered well respected people in our country. While some say journalists are bought by politicians of our country to speak well about them, this notion is not true. Journalists are the ones who risk it to bring out the truth. There are many sections of journalism like politics, sports, entertainment, stock markets, etc. If you want to become a journalist, be true to yourself and you can win the love of others.
3. Radio
Radio was the first medium of entertainment for people around the world. While there are many who think the radio has faded away, absolutely not. The radio is everyone's pastime while on their way to work and to get their daily dose of entertainment while the radio jockey entertains with his/her wit and also some elements of winning gifts. Although, the job of being a radio jockey is tough as you are live On Air, if you are the talkative one and can make people laugh, then a radio jockey has to be your career choice.
4. Newspapers
Newspapers are the daily dose of information on different topics like politics, sports, entertainment, love and relationships, etc. Everyone gets up to a daily dose of reading newspaper along with a cup of tea. Although, it is not necessary to be a journalist to write articles in a newspaper, if you have a flare for writing and can cover up daily news or events in a neighboring area and express your thoughts through your pen, then write for newspapers.
5. Theatre
Many people are of the notion that theatre means joining an acting school and investing money but not being sure of a stable career. Don't be fooled by the incorrect information doing the rounds. While studying BMM, students are given exposure in a lot of fields and this one being theatre (acting). There are numerous college fests that give an exposure to showcase ones talent. Participate in fests, earn the necessary exposure and join a theatre group to showcase your inner talent to the world.
