Thapar University offers MBA programmes via the LM Thapar School of Management. Admissions are currently open for Thapar University Patiala MBA courses. Candidates seeking admission must apply online before its last date. To be eligible for Thapar University MBA admission, students are required to have a bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50% or equivalent CGPA or corresponding grade secured from a recognised University/Institute. Candidates with a post-graduation degree in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50% are also eligible to apply for MBA admission.

The candidate must have a Bachelor Degree (Graduate) of minimum 3 years duration, under any discipline, securing 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination, from a recognised university in order to apply for the MBA Programme offered by Vishwakarma University. Admissions to MBA at Vishwakarma University are accepted either through VUNET or MH-CET.

Candidates who are interested in admission at Oriental University MBA course in any specialisation must have passed graduation in any discipline with a minimum 50% aggregate marks for General category and 45% aggregate marks for SC/ST/OBC. Admissions at Oriental University are based on national-level entrance examinations. Therefore, in addition to meeting the basic eligibility criteria, candidates have to appear for either CAT or MAT examination to be considered for the admission process.

The eligibility criteria includes the following:
- An undergraduate degree from any recognised university/ college with at least 50% aggregate
- Candidate needs to appear for KMAT exam which is open for all the students
- VTU will shortlist candidates based on the qualifying exam scores.

Candidates are selected on the basis of SNAP cut offs for the MBA admission round which consists of Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT). This round is held in February and March after the announcement of SNAP result.
Candidates who clear the GE-PI-WAT round are selected for MBA admission. The parameters for selection also include class 10, 12 and graduation scores, academic profile and work experience. All SIU institutes conduct Group Exercise, Writing Ability Test but individually.
