The same course cannot be continued from regular to distance education. When the university is different, it needs a provision of migration. Hence, you need to find out the details from both the institutions.

If you are going to do MBA, then your package will be decided on the basis of your MBA course and college of your MBA. You can choose any stream in B.Sc. If you have to do MBA after that. B.Sc. doesn't play an important role in deciding your package. It will just help you to move your career in which direction you want to move.

What is the percentage on your degree? Because 50% in graduation is the criteria for applying any MBA college If you were from OBC or any backward category then it is about 45%. So make sure about your eligibility for MBA. And at 65 percentile, you will get average colleges like Sinhgad and all in Pune.

MBA Shipping and Port Management is a rare course conducted by very few universities and institutions in India. Placements will play a role if you do on regular basis. As you are already an employee doing MBA in shipping and port management in distance mode will definitely help you to GET a promotion. But doing in distance mode will not help to GET a job as MBA qualification. And coming to the salary, it will be less in the government sector but very high in private sectors.
