50% is a decent safe benchmark. You should know in core finance job profile, maximum MNC demands 55-60% and for sales, few top FMCG giants and pharma company demands 50% in/upto graduation.
Though, you can have an unbiased view through linkedin/quora alumni chat to have a 360 degree view), if you have 97% onwards can chase SIMSREE-Mumbai, PUMBA-Pune, XIME-Banglore, KJSMAIYA, JBIMS.
Choose your area of interest, then choose your college according to that.

You may consider G L Bajaj for engineering in terms of fetching placements but its average for MBA/PGDM placements. You may look for something better in ranking than this to pursue MBA/PGDM.
