AIMS Institutes admission to MCA programme is based on merit in the last qualifying exam. Candidates need to pass Bachelor (3 years)/ master degree examination of any recognised education body in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST candidates) or should have secured at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST candidates) in Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Statistics/ Computer Applications/ Electronics as a subject in Class 12 or at degree level to apply for MCA programme. The institute might conduct a personal interview round for selection.

The University has not released placement data for MCA courses. However, combined placement details are out for the PG (2 years) courses. Out of 323 PG (2 years) graduates, 199 were placed during GBPUAT placements 2022. This makes the placement rate nearly 62%. Earlier, 179 students were placed during 2021 placements, out of 290 graduates. This makes the placement rate nearly 62%. The table below depicts the PG (2 years) placement rate trends from 2020 to 2022:

Candidates seeking admission to Anna University MCA course must have passed a Bachelor's degree of a minimum 3 years duration in BCA, BSc (Information Technology /Computer Science), Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 50% (45% in the case of candidates belonging to the reserved category). Apart from the minimum eligibility requirement, a valid score in the TANCET entrance exam is also compulsory to be eligible for Anna University MCA admission 2023.

Yes, Anna University accepts TANCET entrance exam scores for admission to its MCA course. The final selection is based on TANCA counselling. Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test. TANCET is a state-level entrance test conducted by Anna University to provide admission to various PG courses, including MTech, MArch, MPlan, ME, MBA and MCA. Apart from a valid TANCET score, candidates are also required to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria for Anna University MCA admission.

Anna University offers a two-year full-time MCA course at the postgraduate level. The University also accepts lateral entry to this course. Anna University MCA admission is based on TANCET entrance test scores, followed by the counselling process. Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is an admission test conducted to offer admission to PG courses, in colleges of Tamil Nadu.
