MCA

Candidates are eligible to take admission to BCA without being from Mathematics backgrounds. Even those from Humanities and Medical background are eligible for BCA. But for MCA, Mathematics in Class 12 or UG-level is the minimum requirement.

In order to be eligible for the MCA programme, a candidate needs to possess a bachelor's degree of three-year duration from a recognised institute/ university and Mathematics in Class 12 with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate (45 per cent for SC/ ST candidates).

The fee for the MCA programme is INR 58,120 per year.

The technology institute offers a three-year full-time MCA course. The three-year duration of the course is divided into six semesters of six months each. Admission to the PG course is entrance-based. 

The aspirants with a BCA/BSc Hons/BSc with Mathematics and Statistics subjects with 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for reserved category) can take admission to the MCA course in NITK. Moreover, the candidates must also hold the relevant documents at the time of form filling and admission as proof of eligibility.

The total tuition fee for MCA is INR 35,000 as per an unofficial source. Candidates are required to pay the course fee after completion of all the selection rounds to confirm their seats. In case, a candidate is unable to pay the fee within the specified time, his or her admission will stand cancelled. Aspirants will also need to pay a registration fee to apply for admission.

The selection to MCA is based on TANCET score. The Government Quota seats are filled through TANCET while Management Quota seats are filled through Consortium self-finance colleges. After completion of the selection rounds, the university releases a merit list to announce the names of the shortlisted candidates. MCA is a two-year course divided into four semesters. PSNA College of Engineering and Technology offers MCA at the PG level in affiliation with Anna University. Candidates must pass bachelor's degree (BCA/ BSc -CS/ IT) with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for reserved category) to apply for the MCA course.
