Yes, in order to support students enrolled in the MD/MS programme, GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Visakhapatnam, provides a monthly stipend. For the first year, students are offered INR 44,075 per month. From the second year, students get a monthly stipend of INR 46,524. In the final year of the programme, students get INR 48,973 per year.

Yes, after completing the GIMSR MD programme, students can seek out government job opportunities. MD graduates can join as a Senior Resident in government hospitals and medical organisations. Some of the reputed government hospitals to work in are Safdarjung Hospital, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narain Hospital, and others.

The reservation policy followed for GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Visakhapatnam MD admissions is as per an NEET PG information bulletin. As per the document, a total of 22.5% of seats are reserved for the admission of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Out of the 22.5%, 15% of seats are reserved for the admission of SC candidates and 7.5% of seats are reserved for the admission of ST candidates.

Yes, students enrolled in the MS and MD courses offered by the GIMSR are required to submit a thesis. The topic of the thesis must revolve around their chosen specialisation. Moreover, this project work is to be successfully submitted at least six months before the theory and clinical/practical examination. A candidate shall only be allowed to appear for the theory and practical/clinical examination only after the acceptance of the thesis by the examiners.

After filling out the GIMSR MS application form, students must participate in the NEET PG counselling process conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), DGHS. In the counselling process, the students are allocated MD seats based on marks obtained in the NEET PG exam. The fee to participate in the counselling process ranges from INR 5,000 to INR 2 lakh.
