The reservation policy followed for GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Visakhapatnam MD admissions is as per an NEET PG information bulletin. As per the document, a total of 22.5% of seats are reserved for the admission of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Out of the 22.5%, 15% of seats are reserved for the admission of SC candidates and 7.5% of seats are reserved for the admission of ST candidates.

GIMSR provides a total of 34 seats for admission to its MD programme. This implies that a total of 34 students can take admission to the MS programme in a single academic year.

Moreover, the allocation of these seats is facilitated via NEET PG counselling. However, distribution of MD seats is also subject to the NEET PG reservation policy.

MD seats offered by GIMSR are allocated based on marks obtained in the NEET-PG examination. The seats are alloted during the counseling rounds for the NEET-PG examination. Students who are allocated a seat are required to report to the institute for verification of documents. Students must pay admission to secure their seats.

Yes, students enrolled in the MS and MD courses offered by the GIMSR are required to submit a thesis. The topic of the thesis must revolve around their chosen specialisation. Moreover, this project work is to be successfully submitted at least six months before the theory and clinical/practical examination. A candidate shall only be allowed to appear for the theory and practical/clinical examination only after the acceptance of the thesis by the examiners.

After filling out the GIMSR MS application form, students must participate in the NEET PG counselling process conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), DGHS. In the counselling process, the students are allocated MD seats based on marks obtained in the NEET PG exam. The fee to participate in the counselling process ranges from INR 5,000 to INR 2 lakh.

Students who wish to take admission to the GIMSR MD courses are required to participate in the NEET PG counselling with a valid NEET PG score. The application fees to participate in the counselling differ based on the refundable and nonrefundable categories. The refundable application fees for deemed universities is INR 2 lakh. The nonrefundable application fees for deemed universities is INR 5,000.
