First, if you qualify for the Advance, you will have a chance of getting admitted in some state universities. Your JEE marks was just an added weightage for getting a seat in a college. It depends on the entrance exams.

Yes, you can go for B.Tech lateral entry mechanical engineering in all the college of India after diploma in the same course of mechanical.

You can go for B.Tech lateral entry in B.Tech after diploma in mechanical engineering or you can go for BCA or BBA as all these has good career only when you study well.
