Automobile engineering is a specialization of mechanical engineering. As a mechanical engineer you are eligible for job in automobile and its ancillary industries. In fact majority of engineers in Indian automobile industry are from mechanical engineering background.

More than skills you need to have interest towards machines because skills can be taught and practiced during engineering but if you don't like it then you won't learn it.

It will better for you, if you can change to BTech CS or BTech IT which are superior degrees to BCA. This way you will save your one year effort and get better degree.
