There is a mentality in our country that girls should not go for mechanical engineering. Being a female mechanical engineer, let me bust this myth for you.
Mechanical engineering is totally safe for girls. You have an option of office work like designing where you don't have to work on shop floors. But in case you like building machines by your own hands, you'll love working in a manufacturing unit.

Following are the options available to you on completion of BTech Mechanical Engineering : (a) Go for job (b) Higher education either in Technology or in the field of Management. If you are technically oriented it will be better to go for MTech from a good Institute. If you want to make career in technology management or general management MBA will be ideal. All options have its own pro and cons. You may choose an option based on your interests and preferences.

Hi Mrunal,
GRE and IELTS preparation will take considerable amount of time , around 3- 6 months if you have not started preparing. You must decide the date as per your convenience and university deadline. Keep sufficient time for the visa process. Keep in mind that GRE scores are valid for 5 years and IELTS score valid for 2 years.
