It all depends on the individual's field of interest. Medical is lucrative field, but requires great effort from the individual. Comparatively art and Commerce need slightly less efforts but not very easy going. If one targets CA after B.Com, then it again needs equally great efforts.

For neurosurgeon, you must take Biology in class 11th, then only you will be able to become a neurosurgeon. By taking PCM, you can't become the Neurosurgeon at all. But why don't you choose engineering like BE/B.Tech. Or, if you don't want to go for engineering, then go for BA or B.Sc.

If you want without engineering or medical for class 12, the best career will be then professor. You then do B.Sc. Then M.Sc. and doctorate degree and you can become the professor in government college also. Some papers, you may have to give for become the professor in government like UGC NET etc. Only this profession is best for a Science student. I don't think any other profession would be better.
