As an international student, you must get your medical qualifications verified by Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) Electronic Portfolio of International Credentials (EPIC). Create an EPIC account and Australian Medical Council (AMC) account. To study medicine in Australia, you must clear two tests organized by AMC - MCQ and Clinical Examination. You will be eligible to take the AMC Clinical Examination only after you clear the MCQ. On successful completion of these tests, you will be issued the AMC certificate. The entire process is online.

Yes, you stand a good chance. As you had the backlogs due to medical reasons which were beyond your control, you only need to have the medical certificates to back up the same, both, at time of applying for the course and the visa. And, it goes without saying that you need to meet the other academic requirements for admission.
