I think NIT electrical will give you more exposure. NIT-Trichy always hit its 100% record in all most all UG courses. IIT-BHU has its brand name just like other IITs. It's completely up to you to decide now.

1. Metallurgy is an old field of science and it's an unconventional field of engineering, which students generally don't prefer because they think this field is not much in demand.
2. Actually, this field is the mother of every other field. Just imagine the world without metals and non-metals. It's unimaginable. Modernization of the human race started due to discovery in this field. The big machines (mechanical), automobiles, chemical engineering, etc.
3. The boom in new discoveries in Metallurgy gave way to a boom in industrialization, thus it will remain an important branch of engineering and science. People will always use metals and

If you are willing to put in some extra effort, study further and work in a core job, then it is totally worth it. The courses taught are not purely metallurgy based, i.e a healthy amount of materials Science is taught as well, such as polymers etc. The department has enthusiastic professors, and more will be joining soon. They are quite helpful and willing to involve undergraduates in research and seniors are always there to guide you appropriately. There is an atmosphere of active research here, and if you show interest, you'll probably do very well here. On the other hand, if you like to work in the IT industry, you have the option

Look, it totally depends on you. It depends on your field of interest and what you want to do. I personally feel there are two ways of choosing a college.
1. If you have decided your field and branch of study and you are determined in that than go for the branch irrespective of NIT, IIT or IIIT.
2. If you are unsure of the branch, then I would recommend, first research the course guidelines of the above-stated branches and outcomes of the same and then see which matches your interest best because 4 years is not a short period. Based on your decision, you have to study the particular branch for a long period. If you can see yourself stu
