Of course it's indeed great idea to pursue PhD part time. You must do it. It's actually quite simple. You have to clear an exam to become eligible for PhD. Then find a guide and after discussing with guide decide on your research topic. You can study at your convenience and complete PhD. Best wishes

Eligibility criteria for M.SC:-
1) Citizenship: Indian nationals can apply under general category. Foreign nationals or NRI or Indian nationals supported by NRI relatives can apply under the foreign/NRI category.
2) Qualification: The candidate must have passed BSc with chemistry as major subject with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
3) No minimum age limit.
4) General/Foreign/NRI Category: Admissions are done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and there is no entrance test. There is no entrance test for this course.
