What education is needed for nanotechnology and in which fields?
Nanoscale phenomena underlie many of the properties and interactions of matter, and thus the sciences of physics, chemistry, and biology. However, nanoscale science is an interdisciplinary field one where science and engineering intersect. Studying science or engineering and paying attention to the developments in nanoscience that advance these fields can provide you with a solid foundation for any broad range of careers.

Hi,
It really depends on your interests. If you like solving problems with technology, this is the best time to work in Nanotechnology. The science is mature enough that it can be applied to problems in many different fields, but it's young enough that there is still a plethora of work to do. If you like entrepreneurship, there are still opportunities to start companies and the companies have a much better chance of succeeding than they did 10 years ago. However, if you are interested in pure science and want to do fundamental work, that time is behind us.
