National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kannur Eligibility

To get into the B.Des programme at NIFT Kannur:

1. You should have passed 12th grade with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).

2. Taking the NIFT Entrance Exam is a must.

3. Having studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 12th grade or holding a 3 or 4-year Diploma in any field is beneficial.

Admission criteria for MDes at the NIFT, Kannur, the candidates should have passed B. Des or any other graduate degree in a relevant discipline. 

For MDes admission, a candidate should complete and passed a bachelor's degree programme from a recognised university in the relevant stream. The candidate should hold the valid degree and mark sheets as well. These documents can be required for submission during form filling or admission confirmation for details verification.

National Institute of Fashion Technology Kannur is a government institute established in 2008. It offers B.Des under four specializations they are-:

B.Des. (Fashion Design)

B.Des. (Textile Design)

B.Des. (Knitwear Design)

B.Des. (Fashion Communication)

The Basic Eligibility Criteria - 12th Pass. The candidate must have cleared 10+2 examination of any recognised board or he/she must have secured a passing grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.

And basic Admission Criteria is the NIFT Entrance test.

For admission to the MFM course, it is crucial that the aspirants meet the minimum eligibility criteria. To be eligible for the MFM course at NIFT Kannur, the candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university. Candidate must also hold the pass certificate during form filling and at the time of admission confirmation.
