Hello Amrapali,
If you are interested in further studies, NIT Durgapur is a better option as it provides better quality of education at a comparatively much reasonable fees compared to KIIT. So, you can easily pursue higher studies without spending too much. However, if you are interested in job placements after completion of engineering, you should opt for KIIT University, Bhubaneshwar as it provides better placement opportunities.

Branch matters. CSE of VIT is better than civil in these NITs.

No. The cut-off for mechanical engineering in NIT, Durgapur is very high.
NIT Durgapur is famous for its mechanical branch,so every year cutoff is high.
At this rank, it is difficult to grab mechanical in NIT, Durgapur.

With AIR 22205, CSE is tough to get there, but there are some chances of mechanical engineering. Maybe, you will get ME in the 3rd or 4th round of counselling.
Best of luck.

It will be very difficult for you to get into NIT, Durgapur at this rank. You should try government colleges in Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand. I think you may get one there.

Your general rank is much high. I don't think applying in Durgapur or Shibpur with state quota will help you to get CSE or IT.
By the way, you can get mechanical and branches other than the core ones.

Hi suman!
You are not qualified as your score is 51. The cut off for general caste is 81.
So, you cannot write JEE Advanced.
Getting NIT is not easy with this score as many people would have been qualified. So anyway, you apply for counselling in www.josaa.nic.in
All the best!
