You are advised to complete +12 board with PCM. You may appear for NDA examination conducted by UPSC twice a year to join Indian Navy. If you do well you will become Captain in IN in about 18 years.

There is direct recruitment to SO in Indian Navy. Naval Officer of the rank of Lt Cdr onwards start performing role of SO. However for further detailed answer, you are rquested to confirm your educational qualifications.

Following are two options to become a Naval officer in Indian Navy:
(a) Join Indian Navy through NDA. Selection is based on NDA exam conducted by UPSC. Exam is conducted twice a year by UPSC
(b) Join Indian Navy through 10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme (Permanent Commission) Course. Candidates are called for Services Selection Board (SSB) based on their performance in Senior Secondary Education (10+2 equivalent).
