Hello Goutam, National Eligibility Test (NET) is a national level exam meant for scrutinizing the expert of the knowledge required for holding the position of Lecturers/professors/ associates/ research fellows at India's reputed universities. Earlier CBSE conducted the NET exam but from December 2018 it is conducted by the National Testing Agency. UGC NET exam is conducted in approximately 81 subjects. To qualify the UGC NET exam, you have to crack NET exam which is divided into two parts I. e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. You have to score minimum marks in UGC NET which are as follow -
General Category Candidates 40 marks or 40% in Paper-I, 80 marks or 40% in Paper-II. Reserved Category Candidates 35 marks or 35% in Paper-I, 70 marks or 35% in Paper-II. Apart from that each subject has their separate cut-offs. Candidates need to achieve that target to qualify for the exam. NTA has released the subject wise official cut-offs for the NET December 2018 exam on 7th January 2019. The UGC NET 2018 Exam has been conducted from 18th December to 22nd December 2018. After completing the exam, aspirants who appeared in the exam must be seeking for the UGC NET result and the cut-off. The UGC NET Result has been released on 5th January 2019 and official cut-off has been also released by the NTA on 7th January 2019. Hello Ashvini,The UGC NET was successfully held from 18th December to 22nd December and the result has been declared for the exam. The NTA conducted UGC NET exam in different cities. The UGC NET Dec Exam was held for 85 subjects and the cutoff marks for each exam is different. The NTA has released the result and cut off marks for the UGC NET December exam.
To check your result visit the official website and click on the View Result- UGC NET December Link. Insert your application number and date of birth, security pin and submit. Your result will appear on screen which you can download or take a print out for further use. As you did not mention your subject, you can check the cut off marks and result at official website. The best option for you is apply for the CSIR NET Life Sciences exam on the place of UGC NET. This exam is also conducted for those candidates who wants to become researcher or lecturer and related to the Science stream. To apply for the CSIR NET exam, you should have minimum 55% aggregate marks in Masters' degree if you coming from the General/OBC Category or if you are from ST/SC/PwD category then you should have minimum 50% aggregate marks in post-graduation. If you want to apply for NET JRF then your age must not more than 28 years. Reserved category and women candidates get the relaxation of 5 years.
