Hello,
You can apply for UGC NET Exam if you have completed Post graduation in the subject. The College or University through which you have completed Masters should be UGC Approved or recognized University. There is a need to complete Masters with at-least 55 % marks. (For Reserved CAT. Students the eligibility is 50 % marks in the post graduation).

Hi Sayyada, The NET exam is organized for more than 84 subjects through UGC NET and CSIR NET. The Science stream candidates can apply for CSIR NET while other stream candidate can apply for UGC NET. The purpose of both exam is same that is to determine the eligibility of the candidates for assistant professor [posts in colleges and to pursue Ph.D. and for junior research fellowship. Of course, the NET will be helpful for admission in Ph.D. The NET qualified candidates are allowed to apply for the lectureship, research or Ph.D. without any exam and selected based on personal interview. Hello,Let's talk about the NET exam first. The UGC NET exam is organized for the selection of candidates for junior research fellowship and for lectureship in the universities and colleges. The UGC NET is held for more than 84 subjects and the candidates are allowed to apply for their post-graduation subject or its related subjects only. Yes, you can apply for the NET exam if you complete the post-graduation within 2 years of qualifying the NET exam. The NET Exam is held to determine candidates for assistant professor posts in colleges and university and for junior research fellowship awards. UGC NET exam is held for the arts, commerce and other stream candidates while CSIR NET exam is held for the Science stream students for the same purpose. The minimum eligibility to apply for the NET Exam is post-graduation degree for the recognised university with more than 55% marks. Hello Jaya,
Yes, you are eligible for the SET and NET examination. NAT stands for national eligibility test and conducted for the determination for assistant professor posts and JRF awards. The eligibility to apply for the NET exam is that candidates must have completed the post-graduation degree from the recognized university with more than 55% marks. For NET lectureship there is no age limit criteria. For NET JRF the age of the candidates must be below 30 years. The candidates are allowed to apply for their post-graduation and its related subjects only. Hope it will help you. All the best.

Hello Shekargoud,
As the registrations for UGC NET December 2018 is closed now, you have to wait for releasing the notification for UGC NET July 2019. If you aspire for the NET JRF exam, then you can apply for the exam until your age must not exceed 30 years. For the Assistant Professor, you can appear whenever you want because there is no age limit.

JB, Yes, you are eligible for CSIR UGC NET under earth Science subject. CSIR will hold the UGC NET for Junior Research Fellowship and/or Assistant Lectureship. The exam is conducted for Life Science, Earth Science, Mathematical Science, Chemical Science, and Physical Science. The eligibility criteria for the same is as under :-

UGC NET exam is conducted for 84 different subjects including sociology. To be eligible for NET exam, you should complete Masters degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks (5% relaxation available for other than general category).
