Hello,
UGC NET is conducted twice in a year in the month of June and December. The basic eligibility to appear in this exam is, an aspirant should have completed their Masters' or is in the final year of their Post-Graduation. As you are from the Statistics background, you can choose any of the subjects either UGC NET Commerce or CSIR NET in Mathematical Science. But being from this background, you should go for CSIR NET in Mathematical Science rather than UGC NET. As you are from Maths stream and maths subject is covered by CSIR-NET. You are supposed to apply for CSIR-NET. This exam is mainly conducted for the Post-Graduation students who are from Science stream
CSIR-NET is conducted in 5 subjects excluding the compulsory subject which is General Aptitude.
1. Life Sciences
2. Chemical Sciences
3. Physical Sciences
4. Mathematical Sciences
5. Earth Sciences.
