In NIT Patna both branches are good but CSE is better on the basis of placement, now it depends on your interest.
In B.tech CSE approximately, there is a 100% placement of CSE students. The placements of other branches are quite low. The highest package offered was 39.5 lacs per annum gave to a CSE student by Adobe, and five students were placed for 27 lacs per annum package in Amazon. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Wipro, Infosys, samsung, Tata Motors, etc., visited college. The college has a placement cell and the lowest package offered is 3.4 lakhs per annum and the average is 5.68 lakhs per annum. The Wi-Fi facility is available on the campus. The labs are good.
In B.Tech ECE : The average salary package is between 8 to 9 LPA. They provide a good training and placement cell in the college with well-experienced persons. When it comes to the electronics department, placements are somewhat low as compared to CSE.

Hi, according to my point of view NITs are the best government colleges in India.
NIT, Jamshedpur you can choose. It has a great environment. A good to go sized campus, and in the vicinity of the market place. Co-operative people, great security and greenery all around. Experienced professors: In core branches like mechanical and civil we have some really experienced professors. With teaching experience more than probably your age.
Great Hostels: NIT Jamshedpur has one of the best hostel facilities in the country. Two mega hostels, with an accommodation of 1500 students (two buildings, 7 storey). Almost throughout your stay at NIT Jamshedpur you will get a single seater room. Which is a rare case for government colleges. Even the old hostels are well maintained and built.
Great Food: If you are from North India, I BET you will not complain about the food. Talking in relative terms, NIT Jamshedpur has better food than almost all colleges, with food being provided 4 times a day. Decent Placements: NIT Jamshedpur has great placements, with more than 120 companies visiting the campus every year you get to see some really great packages. Two students bagged 67 LPA in 2015. You shout out a domain of interest and you have a club for that. You will get active participation in all clubs and most of the clubs are free of cost to get into. For eg.
