Hi, according to my point of view NITs are the best government colleges in India.
NIT, Jamshedpur you can choose. It has a great environment. A good to go sized campus, and in the vicinity of the market place. Co-operative people, great security and greenery all around. Experienced professors: In core branches like mechanical and civil we have some really experienced professors. With teaching experience more than probably your age.
Great Hostels: NIT Jamshedpur has one of the best hostel facilities in the country. Two mega hostels, with an accommodation of 1500 students (two buildings, 7 storey). Almost throughout your stay at NIT Jamshedpur you will get a single seater room. Which is a rare case for government colleges. Even the old hostels are well maintained and built.
Great Food: If you are from North India, I BET you will not complain about the food. Talking in relative terms, NIT Jamshedpur has better food than almost all colleges, with food being provided 4 times a day. Decent Placements: NIT Jamshedpur has great placements, with more than 120 companies visiting the campus every year you get to see some really great packages. Two students bagged 67 LPA in 2015. Placement of NIT-Patna is nice. This year, placement for CSE is 100% except for this many core company candidates got the job in consultancy profile. The average package is around INR. 7 LPA and the highest package is INR. 39.6 LPA. There are some students placed in Amazon with INR. 27 LPA package. HIGHRADIUS recruits 51 students with 20+ students for developer profile with 7 LPA and around 30 students at consultant post with INR 7 LPA and 2 students for sales profile INR 8 LPA.
