NIT Patna offers BTech course to students at the UG level. It is offered for 4 years in several specialisations. To be eligible for BTech at NIT Patna, candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria set by the college. Candidates must be Class 12 passed with a minimum 75% aggregate with PCM.
The time period required to complete the JEE Main preparation depends mainly on the students. Every student has their own pace of study. Ideally, 6-month time is good enough to complete the JEE Main preparation. Students who have started preparing from class 11 or 12 can easily prepare for JEE Main in 6 months considering the topics of JEE syllabus have already been studied in classes 11 and 12.
JEE Main preparation is most effective with classes 11 and 12 as almost 90-95 percent of topics are similar in both exams. This way students can easily complete the entire JEE Main syllabus as well as the syllabus of classes 11 and 12. After the board exams, students get 1-2 months' time where they can focus entirely on JEE Main. Students who have started late for the JEE Main exam can make a 6-month plan where in the first three months they have to focus on revising the syllabus studied in classes 11 and 12. In the next two months focus on solving questions of JEE Main and analyzing the mistakes being made, if any. The last month should be focused on solving mock tests and JEE Main previous year question papers.

- Library: The Central library of the institute owns a vast stock of over 75,000 books. It has a stock of over 10,000 computer-related books and a section for every engineering branch and architecture.
- Computer Centre: The computer centre serves as the central computing facility for the students, research scholars, and teachers of the institute. The Centre is well equipped with modern Computers (190 in number), air-conditioned labs and stabilized uninterrupted power supply among the other facilities.
- Medical Facilities: Two permanent doctors are located within the institute premises. He can be consulted by the students and employees for any health-related problems on every working day free of cost.
- Hostels: Residential facilities are provided to students in three boy's hostels and two girl's hostels. Presently, all the girls and many of the boys are accommodated in these hostels. The hostels are guarded round the clock by able private security staff. Patrolling is also done by state security personnel during the night. There are also separate wardens for every hostel.
