Hi Sneha,
I have met a number of students who are studying biotech in IITs and NITs, who earlier had no interest in Biology. So don't think that there are no students who are going to be in the path you are opting. The curriculum of these institutes are designed to teach those mathematics students only and starts from very basics. But keep yourself updated as these curriculum gets advanced very quickly.
Doesn't matter. Having a chance obviously IIT for obvious reasons.

NIT is based on JEE AIR Common Merit List. Based on 60 % JEE and 40% Board Normalisation Marks.

Be it acceptable or not we will have to abide with rulesw and regulations imposed om us. A number of state boards, including those of Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana, Assam, Kerala and Karnataka, have delayed submitting their results in the past, leading to delays in publishing ranking lists which in turn delayed the joint counselling for admissions to IITs and NITs. As it will be difficult to provide best institutes, as the definition of best varies from person to person depending on various parameters.

I can totally understand your dilemma in this case as I have been through the same.
Now, you need understand that there are two important things to consider while seeking admission.
(i) A branch of your choice but from a not so good institute = Not much value.

See placement dose not depend on collage or branch it depends on your academic report and your overall creativity. here both are good collages but u can take nit nagpur but remember if you perform well in collage you will get good job. there is no collage has 100% placement not even iits.
